It started with a podcast. It didn't stop there.
"Hey Man; It's Ok" exists to be a trusted starting point for men who want to understand their mental health, find practical support, and hear honest stories from people who have been there.
We're not a hospital, a hotline, or a replacement for therapy. We're the friend who's done some homework — the one who says "it's ok to not be ok" and then actually helps you figure out what to do next.
The podcast is evolving — not ending
For two years, this was a show: two guys and a microphone, breaking the stigma one conversation at a time. Those conversations taught us something — the episode was never the point. The point was the man on the other side of it going, "that's me. I thought I was the only one."
So we're building the thing those conversations were always pointing at: a resource hub. The interviews keep happening — and now each one feeds articles, guides, and a library you can actually navigate when you need it, instead of scrubbing through hours of audio at 2am.
Every episode stays right where it is, in the Podcast Archive. What's new: a guided Start Here path when you don't know what you need, topics instead of timestamps, and The Mental Mechanic — Ryan's clinical knowledge in shop-floor language.

How we make what you read here
Grounded in real conversations
Written features start from recorded interviews and stick to what was actually said. Guests confirm their quotes and how their story is told before anything publishes.
Clinically reviewed
Ryan or Josh — both licensed clinicians — review clinically sensitive content before it goes live. Pieces show who reviewed them and when.
Honest about AI
Some drafts are developed with AI editing assistance. When they are, the piece says so — and it still goes through the same guest confirmation and clinical review as everything else.
Verified and re-verified
Every hotline, organization, and statistic is checked against its original source, and resource links are re-verified on a schedule. Each entry in the directory shows when it was last checked.
Labeled for what it is
Everything we publish is marked as a personal story, a professional's opinion, or an evidence-informed guide — so you always know what you're reading.
Never a diagnosis
Nothing on this site can tell you what condition you do or don't have, and none of it is a substitute for professional care. We say so, everywhere it matters.
